Action in rural Sussex is lead by its vision for rural Sussex. This vision shares much with the general principles of sustainable development and promotion of social inclusion, however the particular contribution that Action in rural Sussex can make to these principles is also a part of our vision:

Rural Sussex should be a place that is economically, socially and culturally active whilst maintaining a beautiful, biologically rich and productive landscape. There should be an equality of access to housing, employment, services and social provision for people from all parts of the rural community, particularly those whose income depends on the local rural economy. It should be a place in which the quality of life for all sections of society is protected and enhanced and a unique rural culture is celebrated. Above all, it must be a place where local people have the capacity and the skills to manage change for the benefit for all members of their communities.
