Current Programmes

Here is an outlilne of what we do:

Aim 1: Reduce the incidence and impact of disadvantage in rural communities

We run support and participatory programmes for

  • young people
  • groups and organisations that work with young people
  • people looking for work or experiencing financial disadvantage
  • older people
  • groups and individuals caring for older people
  • social enterprises working in local communities
  • people experiencing social isolation or at risk of it
  • families and children facing multiple challenges
  • organisations supporting children and families

 

Aim 2: Build capacity in rural communities to manage change for the benefit of all of their members

We run services and projects to support

  • affordable rural housing
  • community-led and neighbourhood planning
  • community engagement and consultation
  • community buildings and village halls
  • parish councils and community organisations
  • local food and growing 
  • the rural economy
  • local authorities

 

Aim 3: Inform and amplify the voice of rural communities

We provide

  • leadership to rural partnerships
  • research and intelligence to support effective policy making
  • campaigning to support rural communities and raise awareness of the issues they face
