ChangeUp
Many of you will be aware of the work that has been going on about ChangeUp and that, in both East and West Sussex Executive group and Steering group have been working hard to produce draft IDP reports.
- ChangeUp is a national government initiative, which aims to develop a stronger and more sustainable voluntary and community sector, through the development of infrastructure services and facilities.
- Infrastructure services and facilities are defined as all the information, advice, assistance, training, development support, equipment, people and venues necessary for groups to function.
- In Sussex, there are two consortia made of representatives from the statutory and voluntary and community sector. Each consortium has worked to produce a plan for their areas (e.g. East and West Sussex Consortiums), which will improve the infrastructure services to voluntary and community organisations in the county: the Infrastructure Development Plan (IDP)
- Each consortium puts users of infrastructure services and their evidence based needs at the centre of the IDP.
- The IDP is a draft and is subject to a three month consultation (April 28th - June 2006), after which it will be amended and adopted as a final report. The draft IDP is currently available on the ChangeUp websites for East and West Sussex.
For further information about ChangeUp and information about an ongoing consultation, please visit either East of West Sussex ChangeUp website.
