Marshlink line
The Marshlink Line is a section of railway between Hastings and Ashford, extending to Eastbourne. It passes the famous landing place of William the Conqueror at Pevensey, follows the dramatic coastline between Bexhill and Hastings, crosses the stunning Romney Marsh, and continues through the ‘ancient’ towns of Winchelsea and Rye. There are a huge variety of walks and cycle routes throughout this area to explore, some covering local nature reserves. Three major paths to enjoy are:
The Royal Military Canal Path
The Saxon Shore Way
The 1066 Century Walk
The South Downs Way
Sussex CRP by working in partnership has achieved a number of station improvements and community events along the line over the past few years. More still needs to be achieved and the action plan for 2008 is currently being developed with the help of the Steering Group and Stake Holders.
