The Netherfield Community Garden

A proposal to renovate the old allotment site in Netherfield has been approved, providing the opportunity of a space in which to develop an Organic Vegetable, Fruit and Herb Garden, as well as in the future creating an area for workshops with a ‘green’ theme.

The project, which is being managed by Carleen Saull-Hunt of Darvel Down, has full support from the Darvel Down Area Residents Association and Rother Homes who see it as a fantastic opportunity to develop a creative space for the Community. Funding has been applied for to buy equipment to get the garden up and running, but the success will depend on the input and enthusiasm of local volunteers.
