Social Enterprise
Have you heard about social enterprise ?
The idea behind social enterprise is quite simple.
Social enterprises are businesses, which trade for a social purpose. They therefore operate for the benefit of a community rather than for private profit.
Any profits of a social enterprise will be used to reinvest in the business or for the benefit of the community the business has been set up to help.
Action in rural Sussex promotes the development of social enterprise as one way of generating income for projects. Many village halls, community run village shops and farmers markets generate some or all of the income for their project from trading as a social enterprise.
AirS is working as part of the Social Enterprise networks in both East Sussex and West Sussex. The aim of each is to promote and develop new social enterprises in both Counties and to provide assistance from different members of the Networks.
