Kim Richards: Rural Community Services Team Leader

Living in the east of the county in one of Sussex’s most remote and rural villages, Kim has a real passion for rural living and first hand experience of the benefits and challenges of rural life.

Kim has a Master’s degree in Social Science from Brighton University and attended Ruskin Collage, Oxford, where the seeds for a lifelong commitment to social equality and community development were sown.  Kim joined Action in rural Sussex in April 2018 after working for the Kent Countryside Partnerships and several of the South East’s leading conservation bodies.

Kim leads on Rural Community Development at AirS supporting the Village Agents Team and her main passion and role is support the team to work with local people to develop innovative and effective ways to bring services closer to rural people. The Village Agents’ aim is to improve access to services for rural communities, to foster local provision and help with solutions to identified issues, to improve the overall quality of life for all.

Kim is an obsessive gardener, a wild swimmer and loves nothing better than wandering around Sussex with her dog or heading for remote corners of the country in her campervan.
