Melanie Gregory: Head of Resources
Melanie is an FCCA qualified accountant and has specialised in working with charities and non-profit organisations since 2002 including: Care for the Carers, The Brighton and Hove Working Together Project, Impetus and Safety Net, both on an employed and consultancy basis.
Her favourite areas of expertise are project-based accountancy using Quickbooks and full cost recovery budgeting. Her advice to all charities and non-profits is to talk to, and make use of, your professional finance resource – it will be worth it in the long run.
Mel’s prior commercial experience was gained in international business development and she worked for a number of market-leading organisations in senior management positions before retraining as an accountant.
This mix of financial, accounting, commercial and operational experience makes her adept at helping non-financial people to understand financial control systems so that the whole organisation can be made to operate more effectively. She greatly enjoys implementing new and improved systems of financial or operational control and has an excellent track record of doing so, several times in highly challenging situations.
