Library Closure Status Meeting – Ringmer Village Hall – 14th March – 6pm-8pm

Today saw East Sussex County Council Cabinet agree to the closure of seven libraries across East Sussex, including the mobile library which serves rural communities across the region.

Langney, Mayfield, Ore, Pevensey Bay, Polegate, Ringmer and Willingdon libraries and the Mobile Library are set to close on 5 May 2018, with support to Northiam Village Library would also cease from this date. It is also recommended that delegated authority be given to the Director of Communities, Economy and Transport, in consultation with the Assistant Chief Executive, to consider any viable community proposals to take over the running of the seven libraries or the Mobile Library, and to enter into appropriate agreements on behalf of the County Council.
