Guide to Affordable Rural Housing for Parish Councils

English Rural Housing Association which focuses specifically on delivering affordable homes in rural areas has produced a useful introductory guide to the topic aimed at Parish and Town Councils.

Affordable Rural Housing-Guide for Parish Councils 2014

This document includes both basic information such as outlining what affordable housing actually is and who is eligible for it, before moving on to detailing the process that is followed to develop affordable homes in rural areas, the different methods and forms of delivery and perhaps most importantly the nature of the product that is delivered.

Multiple case-studies are included, each of which provide a useful overview of the process that has been followed in different rural locations in order to deliver affordable housing units and illustrates the benefits that this brought to those that now occupy those homes as well as the wider community.
