Join our Board of Trustees
Chair (designate) and additional Trustee.
Interested in the future of rural communities in Sussex?
This is an opportunity for you to make a significant contribution to the future of a much respected local charity based in Lewes.
Action in rural Sussex (AirS) is a forward looking charity that acts as a rural advocate and manages a number of projects all designed to promote the interests of rural communities – details of which can be found at www.ruralsussex.org.uk.
We are seeking a talented individual to work alongside (shadow) our current Chair until she retires in March 2016 and then take over as Chair of our Board of Trustees with effect from April 2016.
Trustees are appointed on a voluntary basis (but expenses can be reimbursed) and currently reflect a variety of professional backgrounds. We are particularly looking for someone of any age, ethnicity and background with experience and a keen interest in “all things rural”. A general background in some of the following – strategy, governance, finance, HR, fund-raising, and/or marketing would be useful, but not essential.
AirS is also looking for an additional Trustee to join its Board and would especially welcome expressions of interest from people with a background in human resource management and/or a legal background. There will be opportunities for Trustees to lead working groups or chair more formal Board sub-committees.
Our Board meets four to six times a year. Induction and training are given. We are looking for people who feel passionate about our work and want to go the extra mile to help us make a real difference to rural communities across Sussex.
If you are interested, take a look at our website for more information and send a brief CV in confidence to firstname.lastname@example.org by 6th September 2015. You are also welcome to contact our current Chair of Trustees, Barby Dashwood-Morris, on 01323 844374 or email@example.com. Please note that interviews will take place on Wednesday, 16th September 2015 from 2.00 pm.
