SWAB Neighbourhood Plan Event 23/1/16

The SWAB Neighbourhood Plan Cluster, which includes Steyning, Wiston Ashurst and Bramber parishes, held an event on Saturday 16th January, inviting residents and councillors to come and see the sites which have been put forward for consideration into the emerging Neighbourhood Plan.

All the sites have been assessed, using a consistent and objective marking criteria, and these methods were also displayed, which showed how some sites will probably be declined, some will be recommended, and a third group of sites which are still being considered.

Members of the Steering Group were on hand throughout the morning session, to help explain the rationale and methods used, and to help identify the sites marked on maps and on handouts given to each attendee.

Rowena Tyler, Community Development Officer from Action in rural Sussex was also present, to field questions about the process of Neighbourhood Planning, and how people can get involved during the next steps.

Over 350 people signed in to the event, and the group will repeat the display again on Saturday 23rd January, from 10.30 to 1.00.

The SWAB Neighbourhood Plan is anticipated to be ready for a 6 week public consultation during the Spring of 2016.  For further information or to keep an eye on progress, visit the website http://www.swabneighbourhoodplan.org/
