Village Halls Week 2020 Announced – August 2019

Monday 20th January – Sunday 26th January 2020 will see the third annual Village Halls Week

Village Halls Week first ran in 2018 and is an annual and national celebration of rural community spaces and the people whose time and dedication keep them going. Organised by ACRE and the ACRE Network this campaign is the largest celebration of village halls and community buildings across England, and is a great opportunity to promote the amazing work your hall does within your locality. Below are the national key dates in the week, that will hopefully gain country-wide media coverage and help publicise the important role that halls play in their communities.

If you would like to take part and receive a free marketing pack, please register at here

Key national dates for your diary:

Thursday 23rd January 2020 – Throw Back Thursday

Use social media to highlight your hall’s history
What has your hall achieved in the past? How did it look at the Jubilee or Millennium? Why not reflect, dig out some photos and let others know. Why not recruit the local history group to find out more?

If your hall has an interesting or colourful past or simply wishes to reminisce, then participate on this day and use #throwbackthursday on your social media channels.

Saturday 25th January 2020 – National Open Day

Join the celebration by holding an open day for village halls week
On this day, halls across the country will open their doors to showcase their events and activities. Why not use this as an opportunity to engage with residents and users by developing something special….perhaps hall users could use this opportunity to run taster events?

If you are planning any events then please get in touch so we can help to promote it and be sure to let us know how you get on by emailing villagehalls@ruralsussex.org.uk
