Westhampnett Community Hall – Parish Council take ownership of new hall – Feb 2020

Massive congratulations to the community of Westhampnett, near Chichester, where the Parish Council have taken ownership of a new Community Hall.

This lovely new hall was designed by a local architect and built by Reilly Construction Ltd of Ford. It was funded by Developers’ Contributions (Section 106 monies) generated by the building of new housing schemes in the village and the Parish Council is continuing to build up a fund towards the fitting out, utilising New Homes Bonus (NHB) monies.

The Parish Council are extremely pleased with the construction company, who are dealing with their snagging list promptly and professionally. They are also grateful to GB-Sol, supplier of PV panels for a local solar farm, who kindly donated the PV panels for the roof.

The Official Opening of the Community Hall took place on 30th November 2019, with the ceremony performed by the Duchess of Richmond & Gordon.

The Parish Council is an enthusiastic committee of councillors and volunteers who run the hall and are in the process of setting up the staffing arrangements for the hall. Therefore, they would be grateful if any halls employing cleaning or other staff under self-employed contracts could share the contractual arrangements with them.
