Roles & Responsibilities of Village Hall Trustees: Online Course

A two hour course for new village hall trustees or those wanting a refresher. Developed and delivered by AirS’ Facilities Advisor Angela Milligan.

Areas covered:

  • Why there are often different kinds of trustees (custodian/holding trustees and managing trustees) and how their roles differ
  • Key responsibilities of trustees and how to carry them out
  • What your governing document (eg trust deed) tells you and how to obtain a copy if you haven’t got one
  • How to tell whether the village hall is owned by the charity or leased
  • Running meetings, voting and AGMs
  • Understanding trustee liability and whether it’s really an issue
  • Inducting new trustees

Max 6 participants so there will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions and discuss issues.

Two dates are available:

Wednesday 15th May 2 to 4 pm
and
Wednesday 12th June 6 to 8 pm

  • Cost for subscribers: £25 plus VAT
  • Cost for non-subscribers: £50 plus Vat
  • Mid-Sussex subscribers £10
  • Mid-Sussex non-subscribers £20
