Karen Laver – Village Agent – Specialist Children and Families 


Karen joined the Village Agents team in September 2018, after 12 years as part of the AirS COPES Team. Following the closure of COPES, AirS was keen to find ongoing sustainable ways of supporting children and families in rural areas, which is where Karen comes in.

Karen is a creative practitioner who has worked to support children and families for 20 years in a roles varying from direct work with disabled children, young carers and anxious teenagers to training staff and volunteers and supporting parents and carers.

Karen is trained in therapeutic play and has an interest in alternative therapies such as Emotional Freedom Technique.

Karen’s original degree was in wood, metal, ceramics and plastics and for many years was known for her ceramic cows and indeed known as the cow woman! Karen still paints and is a lover of outdoor swimming and camping.
