LauraLaura Heales: Village Agent

Brought up on the cusp of the Greater London area and studying at the University of Birmingham, Laura may appear to be a city girl! However, in both places daily commutes were essential to get to the more rural locations were her horse lived.

Having studied Theology at Birmingham and then completed her teacher training, Laura taught for a few years in a variety of places from inner city to rural villages in Birmingham, Dorset, Worcester and London before moving to Hastings to work with children, young people and families in need of additional support.

This work, both in Hastings and Rye, led to an understanding of wider community networks and how these can enrich the lives of individuals and groups.

Laura joined AirS in 2014 as a village agent, enjoying the way the work has combined numerous skills and interests.

Laura is also a trained singer and runs 2 choirs in East Sussex. In addition she looks after two dogs and two horses and enjoys both walking and riding through the Sussex countryside.
